So, after getting some advice from
, I've spiffed up both The Dragonfly, and my main bots. In addition to fixing the shading to make it look more metallic and better defined, I decided to experiment a bit with anti-aliasing. Like the Mario & Luigi styled sprites, there's a little grey pixel in the outer corners of both The Dragonfly and all four of the bots.
I also tried to add more details, like vents and guns and jets. One thing that I've learned about art is that if you have blank space, you tend to get distracted by it and it messes with your impression of the piece. If you fill it with something, whether shading or some little accesory, it makes it stand out less and improves the overall design.
So, what do you think, now? Comment, let me know.
